Challenge

Winkler und Dünnebier Süßwarenmaschinen (WDS), a company based in Rhineland-Palatinate, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of confectionery machines. One of its high-end products is the highly flexible ConfecPRO production line, which is used for shaping filled and solid chocolates. To make it possible for customers to interactively experience the efficient machine in the individual production steps, we were commissioned to create an interactive application for WDS. A great challenge, which we gladly accepted.

Solution

Using a game engine was the solution for us! Today, this technology is not only used to create games and apps quickly and efficiently, but is also used for various marketing requirements. Thus, products can be visualized and made tangible for customers. Which was exactly what was needed for the challenge posed by WDS.
The first question we had to ask ourselves was what features the interactive application should have. 3D was clearly a basic requirement. As was the ability to view the large machine from all sides and to zoom in and out. A total of 14 stations can be selected in the application, plus further insights into the production line – from EasyClean and connections to format parts and demos. Since WDS operates internationally, the language can be changed from German to English. All in all, an impressive package that allows users to gain deeper insights into the molding line.

The result is really something to behold! We can now offer customers the option of viewing the ConfecPro in detail without having to actually set up a production line. This means that the application is not only suitable for presentations and trade fairs, it is also used for sales purposes. We now have this option thanks to the fantastic work of Meyle+Müller.
