Challenge

A photo shooting in Ibiza was planned for the launch of the new Rolf Benz outdoor series.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel conditions were difficult at the time of an originally planned shoot and an alternative was needed. In addition, there is no existing 3D CAD data for upholstery/cushions. This makes a completely digital and automated furniture visualization difficult.

Customer Needs
  • Efficient CGI image production despite the lack of CAD data for the upholstered furniture
  • Shorter time-to-market
  • Cost savings for more budget freedom

Solution

Meyle+Müller has developed the Virtual Studio for this purpose. The Virtual Studio makes it possible to photograph real products in the studio in front of a green screen and place them in a virtual world in real time. The photographer moves around in this virtual world and can freely choose the perspective – at the same time, he sees the scene on his monitor and can thus create the optimum image composition.

By using virtual worlds, Rolf Benz saves on travel and location costs in particular, freeing up more budget for further innovative marketing campaigns.
