Bechtle AG is now offering an app via the iTunes AppStore to its iPad and iPhone users. This application offers a structured overview of the Bechtle Online Shop featuring 44,000 different IT products. The Pforzheim-based media service provider Meyle+Müller has made this possible with its successful solution OnlineKATmobile.
The Bechtle IT print catalog has been the company's successful sales channel now for 20 years and has been supported with equal success by the online shop for the past 16 years. And thus it certainly comes as no surprise that the pioneering IT trader is also among the very first to implement the latest development in E-Commerce, namely M-Commerce.
The 700-page print catalogs are also now being offered for the iPad and the iPhone. "The app offers a clear overview of all products including images and detailed information on technology and application"; explains Martin Meyer, Head of E-Procurement at Bechtle.
Users can page through the product groups and place orders via the Bechtle Shop with their end devices comfortably whenever and wherever they like. The full text search function gives the users a quick grasp of all product segments. Images, technical information, accessories and alternative products can be shown on the respective detail page which also features a zoom function for closer inspection. Price and availability information is available in the Online Shop in real time. Bechtle also offers push notifications to inform its users on special offers and actions.
"The decision to commission the development of the app to our longstanding partner Meyle+Müller, who designed and the reproduced our print catalog, has proven to be absolutely right. M+M developed our app in no time and in the very highest quality," reports Jürgen Schäfer, Director of IT-E-Commerce, Bechtle AG. "The solution OnlineKATmobile is excellently suited to cater to the new mobile marketing channel."
The Bechtle app rose to the top 15 apps in the business category shortly after its introduction. Further developments are being planned.
