Mission iPad

"Every publisher should sit down once a day, pray and thank Steve Jobs for saving the publishing industry with this device." Springer CEO Mathias Döpfner on the iPad during an interview with Charlie Rose on April 6th, 2010.
Meyle+Müller is also convinced that the launch of the iPad will massively change the media industry. There will be new challenges and new opportunities. This is exactly why Matthias Lange, our coworker at Meyle+Müller embarked on a mission "to purchase the iPad on its very first day of sale in New York".  And so, come Easter Saturday, the 3rd of April, Matthias Lange stood in line in front of the legendary  Apple Store on 5th Avenue, in New York City. While waiting in line, he interviewed several Apple fans who had all come from far-away places such as Kuwait, Brazil, Italy and Germany to be the very first to purchase the iPad. And as always, in the forefront as an innovative partner to our clientele, Meyle+Müller could introduce the iPad to its customers in Germany before the iPad was even launched here. At the same time, we developed the first iPad apps together with some of our customers. Matthias Lange reported enthusiastically on how Apple created that feeling of elation, of being among the very first and being greeted with applause and a handshake by the uniformly dressed Apple crew upon entering the store. Then the euphoric and overjoyed customers received their new iPads. Matthias Lange covered this event live via Twitter and blog with images and videos.
